National Portrait Gallery
[Ambient / Print]
The brief was to create a campaign which challenges perceptions and encourages ‘pop-in’ visits to the National Portrait Gallery.
My proposition was that the side of London buses and the doors of Underground trains would be made-up to look like gallery walls with the frames positioned over the windows. Within the frames the glass would be left clear to form a live portrait of the person on the other side. To support the campaign there would be posters in underground stations and at bus stops, and mailers, resembelling portrait information plaques, would be sent to local buisnesses, providing directions to the gallery.
